Disinfection of Water Systems

HSG 274 states water systems should undergo a clean and disinfection when inspection deems necessary ( i.e. due to the presence of sediment/sludge/scale or foreign matter) or when a high bacterial count has been found or indicated in the Risk Assessment, it is good practice that all water systems, if practicable, should be disinfected annually and Aquafine (UK) can employ a number of different disinfecting techniques including “one off” hypochlorite or hydrogen peroxide disinfections, the disinfection of newly installed pipework as well as the supply and installation of equipment to continually dose mains systems to offer background biocidal treatment.
